An Evening Workshop for Parents of Children who Struggle with Reading

Thursday, May 8, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.

If your child is in Senior Kindergarten to Grade 6 and struggles with any part of reading you will want to attend this workshop. Our instructor Kim Rankin is a Facilitator and former Literacy Coach for the Durham Board of Education. She will offer you insights into why children struggle and then give practical ideas for you to use at home with your child. Kim will be joined by Stefanie Cole, a local school librarian who will provide us with the information on where to obtain the books and resources you might need to help a reluctant, struggling reader.

Precious Minds Golf Tournament

Friday, May 9

Please join us on May 9th at Wooden Sticks for our 5th Annual Precious Minds Charity Golf Tournament. We are excited to be back at the prestigious Wooden Sticks golf course and with our scramble format any level of golfer can enjoy it!

We will be focusing on raising funds for our financial assistance program again this year. Parents can apply for financial assistance for such services as speech therapy, behavioural therapy, tutoring, camps, respite care and specialized equipment. It is wonderful to come together for a day and enjoy a round of golf, a good meal and know your contribution has provided hope for so many families.

2nd Annual Family BBQ at Precious Minds Centre

Tuesday, June 3rd, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

photoOur picnic last year was a wonderful relaxing time to connect with other families, have a good meal while the kids played in a safe familiar environment. It was so much fun we are going to make it an annual event! If you missed last year's bbq you don't want to miss it this year! If you were there we look forward to seeing you back.

Cost is $5 a person/ $20 per family.
