Howe Family Open House

Baagwating Helps BLAZE Summer Camp

The Staff & Board of Precious Minds Support Services are extremely grateful for the generous support of grantors and funders in the Uxbridge, Scugog and Brock communities. With appreciation, we recognize the Baagwating Community Association in Port Perry for consistent donations towards the needs of our Resource & Learning Centre and Programs. This year's Blaze Summer Camp, a fun experience for children and youth with barriers to learning, was funded in part by the Baagwating Community Association.



North Durham Charity Poker Walk

photo On Saturday, June 25th, the first annual North Durham Charity Poker Walk was held, organized by The Rotary Club of Uxbridge.

UXperience

photoThis May, UXperience celebrated 20 years of entertaining a giving back to the community. Precious Minds is so grateful for the $5000 donation toward BLAZE Summer Camp received on June 1, 2011.

Live It Out

photo A BIG "Thank You" the the many volunteers who took part in Live It Out at Precious Minds on Saturday, May 28th. We gave them a long list of jobs and they worked with enthusiasm to complete the tasks set out for them. Said Heather Wilson, project leader, "What a privilege it was to serve this week at Precious Minds. The renewal and refreshing of the property was visible and profound. I had an awesome team! I was also touched that the community businesses recognize that they have a responsibility to support you as well. Your reputation as an organization made it easy for us to approach them." Jays Care Foundation Grant

photoPrecious Minds is pleased to announce the receipt of a $10,000 grant from Jays Care Foundation for BLAZE Summer Camp 2011. This generous grant clearly demonstrates the dedication of the Jays Care Foundation to providing funding to local charities serving children and youth in our communities. We thank the Jays Care Foundation for partnering with us to provide children and youth in the North Durham Region with a unique camp experience.


Precious Minds Golf Tournament

photoOn Friday, May 6th we enjoyed a great day of golf, followed by lunch and a silent auction to raise funds for Precious Minds. "We were thrilled with the turnout and are so grateful for the community support we receive each year at our tournament," said tournament organizer, Sharon Butchart.

With $17,000 raised, we especially thank our Dream Sponsor, Dufferin Aggregates, as well as the nearly 20 hole sponsors and all our golfers.

Next Spring's tournament is scheduled for May 11, 2012 at Cherry Downs Golf & Country Club. We hope to see you there!




Swing for Charity

Thank you to Oakridge Golf Club for the $500.00 donation from their "Swing for Charity" event held on April 26, 2011. There were lots abuzz on their Warren Glen range as well as golfers using the simulator rooms! Shawn Plain, Director of Golf and Head Professional, presented a cheque to Precious Minds.
